“Julie is more than a pleasure to work with -- she's a dream! She often comes up with fantastic ideas for interesting and relevant articles for my magazine, and when commissioned, she turns them in practically flawless and on time. Her writing is interesting and sharp. She is very knowledgeable about the promotional products industry and provides superb content. In addition, she is personable and fun to work with. Our “work conversations” often turn into lengthy and enjoyable chats. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.”
Fred Albrecht, Owner of Proforma Albrecht & Co., says:
“Julie is the best PR/Writer Editor in our industry. She works with many of the largest trade magazines and her articles are featured monthly. The work she has done for us is superb and ranges from PR industry announcements and monthly columns to ads and copy for marketing pieces for our company as well as our clients. We believe in working with the BEST and surely Julie is a great match for our company!
Susan Freiberg, President of Proforma ABF Direct, says:
“I worked with Julie on getting some PR information out to all the trade publications in our industry. She did an outstanding job. I believe that a total of 16 publications picked up the press release. She also helped write an RFP for a company store. She is knowledgeable and easy to work with.”
Julie Cajigas has been writing since she could first pick up a pencil. As a child and young adult she enjoyed writing poetry and short stories. Before she was 15 years old, she had been recognized for her poetry and had been published in several poetry anthologies. Julie continued writing throughout college and served as copy editor and arts scene editor for The Vindicator Magazine, a multi-cultural publication of Cleveland State University. In addition to her professional writing, she also contributes to several blogs and continues to explore creative fiction.
Julie is an avid musician who has studied both voice and violin at the collegiate level. She began studying violin at age 8 and began studying voice in college. She completed her Bachelor of Music in Music Education and has taught private violin and voice lessons. She was also the business manager for the Dolce Duet, where she and her partner performed at more than a dozen weddings. Julie is still available as a singer and violinist for weddings and can both coordinate and recommend local musicians for events.
An active musician, Julie can be seen performing locally and nationally as a member of The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. In 2005, she accompanied the orchestra on a European Tour to London and Switzerland to perform choral works by Mahler and Beethoven. In 2008, she will travel to Carnegie Hall in NYC for a performance of Leoš Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass. In addition to her involvement with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, Julie is the director of the 2008 Akron First Community Christmas Choir.
Julie grew up in the theatre and has performed lead roles in The Music Man, State Fair and Bye Bye Birdie. In addition, she has performed in theatrical “pit” orchestras for more than ten musicals. She has also served as director, musical director and producer for several children’s productions.
Julie Cajigas has been happily married to her wonderful husband Israel since 2007. They love to spend time together exploring the arts and entertainment scene in Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Their interests include movies, bookstores, music concerts, local eateries and whatever crazy adventure (chocolate pajama party/abandoned house art gallery) that Julie has cooked up.
